MULTI-ENGINE REQUIREMENTS

The Federal Aviation Administration requires no minimum time requirement to get a multi-engine rating for a person holding a private or commercial pilot certificate. However, experience has shown that a person will have approximately 10 hours of flight time before being fully prepared to take the multi-engine practical test with a FAA designated examiner. The actual amount of flight time depends on the pace of training and the abilities of the applicant.
